MARBLE FALLS — It’s funny how some traditions start, and how many are a reminder of the good works people do.
Just ask the Marble Falls Noon Lions Club about their purple sombrero.
It all began during the club’s Warm Coats for Kids drive in 1996, when an unusual item showed up in a collection bin – a bright purple sombrero with fancy gold trim.
At the Marble Falls Public Library, 101 S. Main St., we have started the Texas Reading Club for children. The theme is “Catch the Reading Express.” The library is decorated with train car sun-catchers painted by students during the recent Children’s Day in the Park.
